CSE 365

Future Resources

So, you’ve finished CSE 365, and now you’re addicted to computer security and want to continue to sharpen your hacking skills?

Never fear, I’ll try to give an overview of what you can do to further your skills.

Self Study

Learning on your own is never a bad thing.

Here’s an organized list of CTF-style wargames that you can solve on your own

My recommendations for binary exploitation pwnable.kr and cryptography cryptopals.

CTF @ ASU

ASU has a Capture The Flag (CTF) team, called the pwndevils.

The idea is to compete in CTF events, which are held constantly.

The best way to improve your skills is to compete in CTFs. So show up, play, and learn!

Classes @ ASU

We have a number of security courses are ASU. All are great, here are some ones that are more in the hacking vein:

  • CSE 466 with Dr. Yan Shoshitaishvili
  • CSE 545 with me or Dr. Ruoyu (Fish) Wang
  • CSE 591 “Topic: Computer Security: Techniques and Tactics” with Dr. Tiffany Bao
